There should be at least two cold water valves to shut down the water service supply to the home. The first is at the water meter vault and this will shut down the water service supply in the yard and the home. The second one in most cases is just inside your home and its purpose is to shut off the water to just the home.
A Louisville Water Company meter has a sensitivity dial facing upward in the water meter vault. This dial looks like a small red triangle and moves rapidly when water is running in the home however this dial will move incrementally even when there is a small leak. ASI Plumbing uses this sensitivity dial along with isolating the valves to determine if the water leak is inside or outside of the home. We perform this test often to help homeowners with finding a solution for their water piping leaks.
